“Any man who would leave his friends and family, and give up his job, to move 3,644 miles across the world must be absolutely, totally, and madly in love with you.” -from the best man’s speech at this unbelievable wedding in Philadelphia, PA. This couple gives new meaning to the phrase “long-distance relationship”! Their dating consisted of meeting in different parts of the world to see each other, and they brought that same feeling to their wedding now that they are finally together in one place. Fergus’s family and friends made the long haul from Ireland to Philly to celebrate with Mandy’s family and friends, and you would have thought that this was one big happy family all along! I loved watching Mandy’s nephews and how excited they were about having Gus with them now… seriously, there were high fives, hugs, and rough housing right from the start between them and their new uncle. The kids added so much fun to this day and kept me laughing every time I saw what they were up to.
After the wedding at St. Patrick’s Church, Gus & Mandy walked with their guests to Rittenhouse Square… a peacecful tree-lined park, surrounded by beautiful residences and popular restaurants. We walked around and took pictures there until the sun went down, and then into a taxi to the next destination… The Atrium at The Curtis Center. The reception was filled with thoughtful details on every table… even a postcard from each place Mandy & Gus had traveled together marked the name of each table. I loved how they incorporated Irish music in while everyone was dancing, and couldn’t get enough of the accents! The night ended with the most ridiculously delicious dessert display I have ever seen in my life, with the bananas flambe being the main event!
Mandy & Gus… I know it wasn’t easy planning this wedding while still living so far away from each other… but that’s what made your wedding day that much sweeter! You are such a beautiful couple together, and I wish you the best of everything and am so excited to see where your travels take you next… it will be much more fun flying together instead of just meeting each other in another land!
